Enterprise Asset Management Solution for a Global Manufacturing Company

The Challenge

Our client maintained two manufacturing lines for production of its chemical products for worldwide distribution. Demand for their products required them to add a third manufacturing line to increase production. Our client was using Maximo 7 as its Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) solution for all work management activities related to its production operations. Our client needed all maintenance relevant information for the new third manufacturing line added to Maximo.

The Solution

We leveraged location and asset data from other regions to model the equipment data for the new third line and ensure consistency. We grouped the assets by system to create the proper hierarchy of equipment information. We managed the data through a quality assurance process of enrichment, cleansing, and validation to achieve an accurate and complete data set. We loaded the data to Maximo for Locations, Assets, Routes, Attachments, Job plans, and Preventive Maintenance (PM) records.

The Result

All equipment records for Locations and Assets were loaded into Maximo 7 with fully enriched data. Routes, Job Plans, and Preventive Maintenance plans were configured in Maximo to automatically generate work orders according to schedule. With all data fully modeled and loaded to Maximo, our client maintained their enterprise view of their physical assets, including the new third manufacturing line. We have given them the foundation to improve reliability, optimize spare parts inventory, manage their workforce, and run a lean operation.
